Vikings Destroy Wolfpack 75-14
Adam MacDonald, Valdosta Daily Times
Dominant. Methodical. Fast. Powerful. The Lowndes Vikings were all that and more in their season-opening 75-14 win over the Woodland Wolfpack on Friday night at Martin Stadium.

The Vikings amassed 560 yards of total offense and held the Wolfpack to just 182 total yards and minus-18 yards rushing. Lowndes’ starters were out of the game early in the third quarter.

Lowndes’ 75 points broke the school record for most points in a game. The previous record was set by the 1999 Vikings, who scored 67 points against Lanier County.

Lowndes running back Troy Braswell carried the ball 10 times for 101 yards and scored four touchdowns, all of which came in the first half. Braswell credited the offensive line, especially left guard Layne Grant, for opening up running lanes.

“I just got in the zone and had blocking,” Braswell said. “It felt good.”
