Joe Mederos
Head 9th Grade Coach

Five years ago Joe Mederos came to Lowndes High School from Coffee County where he had spent the last 15 years teaching Health and Physical Education and coaching Varsity Baseball and Football.

Coach Mederos attended VSU from 1979 to 1981 where he was college All American in 1979–1980, All Conference in 1979-1981 and won MVP, Offensive and Defensive Awards for that year.

He is married to the former Kathy Smith and they have 3 children, David 21, Brittany 18, and Chris 17.

Josh is a 1999 graduate of Trenton High School in Trenton, Florida. He was a captain on the 1998 10-3 football team coached by Bill Wiles. He then coached under Wiles for two years at Trenton, working as the head junior varsity coach and as an assistant with the varsity football teams.

Josh is currently a senior at the University of Florida with a major in Sport Administration. He is completing his internship under Head Coach/Athletic Director Randy McPherson while working with the 9th grade football team.

Terry graduated from Lowndes High School in 1969. He played two years of basketball at Gulf Coast Jr. College in Panama City, FL. He played his last two years at the University of West Florida in Pensacola.

He received a Master’s Degree from VSU and was the head Boys Basketball Coach at LHS for 20 years. He has held the position as Assistant Athletic Director for the last 7 years and is in his 31st year in Education with the last 27 years being at LHS.

His family includes wife Peggy, and sons Richard and Barrett.

Coach Graybeal was the assistant wrestling coach at Lithis Springs High School in Lithia Springs, GA in 2000-2001. He has been the Head Wrestling Coach at Lowndes High School since 2001. This summer he married the former Jennifer Holley, a social studies teacher at Lowndes High School.
