Vikings Stumble Against Demons in 16-6 Loss
The Vikings lost their regular-season closer 16-6 to the Warner Robins Demons. Neither defense allowed an offensive touchdown, and the score remained tight for most of the night.

Lowndes started off their night on their own 20 after a touchback on the opening kickoff. Darriett Perry’s key first down dash on 3rd-and-10 (and five other Perry runs) helped the Vikings drive down to the Demon 19. Matt Rowland booted a 36-yard field goal for Lowndes’ first score of the night.

Rowland then kicked off to the five-yard line, but the Warner Robins kick returner found several gaps and took the ball 95 yards to the endzone. The PAT was good, giving the Demons a 7-3 lead.

The Viking offense drove deep into Robins territory, but fumbled on the 15-yard line. However, thanks to the LHS defense, the Demons couldn’t capitalize.

After a punt return during the second quarter, Warner Robins started out on the LHS 48. The Demons took seven plays to drive down the 23-yard line, and then kicker David Clark made a 40-yard FG to set the score at 10-3.

Lowndes mounted one final drive in the first half to put on points on the board. Greg Reid provided a major play with a 27-yard sprint to the eight. Rowland capped off the drive with a 22-yard field goal. The Vikings entered the locker room down 10-6, but after playing solid football, racking up 193 yards of offense.

The Vikings sputtered in the second half. Warner Robins kept moving the ball, but the defense did keep the Demons out from the endzone. Warner Robins kicked a pair of field goals in the final half to end the game with a 16-6 win for the Demons. This loss put the Vikings out of the Georgia AAAAA State Playoffs.
