Lowndes vs. Meadowcreek -- 2004 Game Report
With an amazing six touchdowns scored in the 1st quarter the Vikings came out extremely strong against the Mustangs. In the steady rain, dedicated Lowndes fans watched the Viking defense hold Meadowcreek scoreless for all four quarters.

The first of many LHS drives of the quarter started with freshman Darriet Perry running a 50-yard kickoff return to the 40-yard line. To finish off the short drive, Marlon Jones took the ball 38 yards into the endzone with 11:01 to go in the 1st. Lynn Williams ran in a 53-yard touchdown on the first play of the next drive. Williams also sprinted back a punt for 43 yards and caught a 35-yard pass from Belk.

Lowndes then threw some passing into the mix, with a 45- yard touchdown pass from Doug Belk to Matt Harper, with Kurtis Schmidt again adding on the PAT. Also during the first quarter, Perry dashed off a 23-yard touchdown run.

To start off the second quarter, and for the last score of the game, Nic Woolridge intercepted a Meadowcreek pass and ran it back 35 yards for the touchdown. Marc Herring kicked the point after. By the second quarter, the starters were on the sideline, and by the 4th quarter, LHS had played an all-freshman offense. The defense shined through Friday night holding Meadowcreek to a shut-out.

Next week the Vikings have their first test with the undefeated AAAA Ware County Gators. Ware defeated Savannah 50-0 in the rain Friday night. Tickets are $7 for advanced tickets, $5 for advanced student tickets, and $8 at the gate.
