Lowndes vs. Tift - Game Report
The Lowndes Vikings defeated the Blue Devils Friday night to extend their record to 8-0 (3-0 region). A sea of Lowndes fans filled the visitor's side at Brodie Field to cheer the Vikings to a 31-6 victory.

To start the first quarter Marlon Jones got the Vikings deep into Devil territory with two long runs. Freshman Darriet Perry then took the ball 25 yards for a touchdown. The next Viking drive after the defense held Tift was an exciting one. Doug Belk threw a long pass to Bryan Sermons, who ran back to catch the ball, then juked a Tift Co. defender on the way to the endzone for a 75-yard TD reception. Going into the 2nd, the score was 14-0.

In the 2nd, Tift put some points on the scoreboard. They completed a 58-yard pass, and then threw a 4-yarder into the endzone. However, Tift's PAT was blocked by Stevie Harden. With 4:24 to go, Lowndes drove down the field, but had to settle for a 35-yard Kurtis Schimdt field goal with only 53 seconds left in the half.

After the halftime break, the Vikings came out ready to play. The defense held Tift to only 56 yards in the entire second half. The Devil defense tried to contain the Vikings in the 3rd, but Octavious Everett dashed down field for a 21-yard TD to put Lowndes up 24-6.

To finish off the game, Devarious Leonard capped off another long Viking drive with a 1-yard slam into the endzone to give the Vikes a 31-6 victory. Next week Lowndes faces off against Houston County, who has 2-1 region record after falling to Valdosta 17-0.
