Then, Windsor Forest lined up for a normal kickoff, but onside kicked. They recovered the ball, but went 3-and-out, losing 13 yards in the process. The Vikings then drove down the field with a smashing running offense, and Octavious Everett darted in the final 3 yards for the Vikings’ first touchdown. Kurtis Schmidt’s PAT was good. After the defense held Windsor again, Lowndes moved down the field but missed a field goal attempt. In the second the Vikings had an offensive explosion. To start off the 35-point second quarter, Jermel Demps streaked down the sideline for a 60-yard touchdown. The next drive was set up by a 3rd down sack, forcing Windsor Forest to punt. Doug Belk then threw a 54-yard TD pass to Lynn Williams, making the score 21-0 after the point after. As the Viking defense refused to yield, the offense continued its quick strikes, with Belk throwing another touchdown pass to Williams, this one for 21 yards. Then on the first play of the next possession, Belk found Bryan Sermons for a 41 yard touchdown pass. The defense contained the Knights, giving the Viking offense the ball with less than two minutes to go. Reserve quarterback Randy J. Williams drove Lowndes down the field with three crisp passes, the last one to L. Williams for a 21-yard touchdown. After Schmidt kicked the PAT, the score was 42-0 at half. Windsor scored their only points in the third, after recovering a Viking fumble. The Knights put the ball in the endzone with a 23-yard pass. The Vikings answered with another touchdown. R. Williams connected with Robert Frazier for 12 yards, setting up Everett to dash 40 yards for the touchdown. Marc Herring then made the point after, putting the Vikings up 49-7 for the last score of the third quarter. In the fourth the Vikings capped off their amazing night. Jawon Smith ran in an 18-yard touchdown, which after Herring’s PAT made the final score 56-7. Next week the Vikings will play Stephenson in the second round of the playoffs. In their first round game, Stephenson, ranked 2nd in region 2, defeated Newnan 6-0.
